Normally a student admitted for graduate study is expected to have completed a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, science, or mathematics; a degree in computer science is not required.

Beginning with Fall 2009 applications we will no longer accept paper-based or computer-based TOEFL. If you submit TOEFL you must submit iBT. Admitted students who score below a 28 on the speaking subsection of the TOEFL iBT will be required to take an English placement test at Princeton. Students who do not pass the test will be required to enroll in English Language Program classes.
Students must sign up to take the Academic Test version of IELTS. Admitted students who score below an 8.0 on the speaking subsection of the IELTS will be required to take an English placement test at Princeton. Students who do not pass the test will be required to enroll in English Language Program classes.

Applicants are required to submit valid General Test scores from Educational Testing Service (ETS). GRE scores expire after five years from the original examination date and will not be available from ETS.
